The National Job Fair & Training Expo Returns to Toronto April 3-4, 2013
Tuesday, April 2, 2013 (Toronto) – The 2013 Spring National Job Fair & Training Expo, Ontario’s largest and most comprehensive recruitment event, offers job opportunities to a wider range of seekers than ever before, with the addition of the JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities. The National Job Fair & Training Expo, presented in collaboration with the Toronto SUN and 24 Hours, returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building, Exhibit Hall C) from April 3-4, 2013.
The National Job Fair & Training Expo is a public event, which invites visitors to attend in order to develop their careers, whether they are looking for a job, self-employment, continuing education and career training, entrepreneurship services or career services. It is a business-to-consumer event with 156 booths and 128 exhibitors ready and eager to meet with candidates. Exhibitors from several provinces are represented including Ontario, BC, Saskatchewan, the Northwest Territories, Alberta, Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
To make it easier for visitors to find what they need, Ontario’s largest recruitment event is composed of six pavilions – Employment Pavilion, including specific recruitment zones by province or by sector, Training & Education Pavilion, Career Services Pavilion, Entrepreneurship Pavilion, International Pavilion (study & work abroad) and JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities. The service areas of the fair include the Resumé Professional Assessment Centre,presented by The Career Foundation,the New Canadians Employment Consulting Centre,presented by ACCES Employment,the Career Posting Zone, presented by Employment News, the Documentation Centre, the Public Presentation Area and the Entrepreneurship Seminar Room.
The JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities consists of seventeen exhibitors who facilitate opportunities for employment and provide information to those who are seeking to enhance their present skills. New JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities
at the National Job Fair & Training Expo 2013
Thursday, March 21, 2013 (Toronto) – The National Job Fair & Training Expo, Canada’s largest and most comprehensive recruitment event, is pleased to announce the addition of the JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities. The National Job Fair & Training Expo, presented in collaboration with the Toronto SUN and 24 Hours, returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building, Exhibit Hall C) from April 3-4, 2013.
According to Statistics Canada’s PALS survey, 14.3 percent of the population reports having a disability, yet the employment rate for working-age adults with disabilities is 53.5 percent compared to 75.1 percent for working-age adults without disabilities. The unemployment rate is 10.4 percent versus 6.8 percent for able-bodied working-age adults.
The JobOps Career Pavilion for People with Disabilities consists of approximately twelve exhibitors who will facilitate opportunities for employment and provide information to those who are seeking to enhance their present skills. The JobOps Career Pavilion is organized by the National Job Fair & Training Expo and NDEAM Canada. NDEAM Canada is a project of Link Up Employment Services for Persons with Disabilities to raise awareness and improve employment opportunities for persons with disabilities.
“Our goal is to bring awareness to employers of the economic benefits of tapping into this non-traditional labour force, while allowing People with Disabilities to achieve their full potential,” explains Bob Santos, Link Up CEO and Founder of NDEAM Canada. “The JobOps Career Pavilion is a great opportunity for this interaction to take place.”
The National Job Fair & Training Expo is a public event, which invites visitors to attend in order to develop their careers, whether they are looking for a job, self-employment, continuing education and career training, entrepreneurship services or career services. It is a business-to-consumer event with approximately 150 booths and 125 exhibitors from a wide range of industries, ready and eager to meet with candidates. Based on average attendance, between 8,000 and 10,000 visitors are expected to attend the two-day Fair.

The National Job Fair & Training Expo, presented in collaboration with the Toronto SUN and 24 Hours, returns to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre (North Building, Exhibit Hall C) from April 3-4, 2013.
The National Job Fair & Training Expo is a public event, which invites visitors to attend in order to develop their careers, whether they are looking for a job, self-employment, continuing education and career training, entrepreneurship services or career services. It is a business-to-consumer event with approximately 150 booths and 130 exhibitors expected, ready and eager to meet with candidates.
Exhibitors from several provinces are at the 2013 Spring National Job Fair & Training Expo, including Ontario, BC (Prince George region attending with a delegation of employers), Saskatchewan, Alberta, Quebec and New Brunswick. Being held in Toronto, many companies are based in the
GTA. The Ontario regions of Sarnia/Lambton, Kingston and Timmins are also at the Fair to promote jobs and offer advice on moving to their areas, such as banking and housing.
