Click About the recruiters for more useful information about recruiters. TopThere is a lot of action on-site. Stay positive at all timesbeing there, in person, to meet the right people is ALWAYS better than sending a resumé by mail, e-mail or fax that could quickly end up being filed away somewhere. While The National Job Fair & Training Expo tries its best to serve everyone's interests in the job market, individuals have personal expectations. Things don't always go the way we'd like, but it's best to keep a positive attitude. A positive attitude doesn't guarantee your success, but a negative attitude can lead you to failure. Attitude comprises your personality, verbal expression, acceptance, assertion, self-image, your environment, etc. When you keep it all positive, the odds are that you'll succeed! TopWhen you arrive at The National Job Fair & Training Expo, leave negativity at the door! Enthusiasm is IN. Smiling is IN. Positive attitude is IN. Constructive opinions are IN. Enthusiasm ranks highly in a work environment. Moreover, this is one of the most important personal attitudes an employer can expect from a new employee. Show your interest in the company! Top

TopWhen you meet with recruiters, the first thing to do is shake hands and introduce yourself. The National Job Fair & Training Expo is the place and time to show initiative. Very rarely do dream jobs come knocking on your door. So take charge and make things happen! TopThis is an old tip, but a worthwhile one. After you meet with a recruiter and before leaving his or her booth, don't forget to ask for this key card. If the recruiter doesn't have one, note his or her contact info. TopBefore leaving, it's a good idea to make a last contact with those employers with whom you developed a strong interest. Thank the recruiters again for their time. Mention that you'll be calling in a day or two for a follow-up and that you look forward to speaking with them soon. The more you see a person, the more you will remember this person. You will increase your chances of being remembered by the recruiters when you do make contact again. TopFollowing up is a critical part of the job-search process. When you set out to attain somethingin all areas of lifegood follow-up is essential. Basically, you are on your own when you are looking for work. Doing follow-up is taking care of your "business". Remember that most job seekersyour competitorsdon't do appropriate follow-up. If you do yours, you stand out in the crowd and increase your chances of being hired. Sending a thank-you note is a good way to remind the recruiter that you are interested. If you remembered to ask for business cards, you can get in contact quickly with each recruiter you met at The National Job Fair & Training Expo. Call the recruiter, and when you hang up the phone, make sure you can answer this critical question: WHAT'S THE NEXT STEP? Knowing what is going to happen next is what you can control! By doing the right follow-up, you increase your chances of being among those who will go on to the next step of the recruitment process. TopThe air is dry in concrete buildings. As your visit at The National Job Fair & Training Expo will probably last a couple of hours, we recommend that you drink at least a bottle of water to maintain proper hydration. Convenience is a must, so bring one with you or get one at our Public Restaurant. Proper hydration is important to feel great. Although searching for a job is not exercising (at least, not literally!), the fact is that dry air leads to dehydration. Water is the best to keep hydrated. Take a water break in our Rest Areainstead of a coffee break! Top |
